There are different kinds of Tarps. They are:
- Heavy Duty Poly Tarps: These Tarps serve purposes that require heavy endurance. They are weaved and produced to be much stronger as compared to light-duty poly tarps. They also have bigger grommets that can sustain thicker ropes for heavy-duty performance.
- Light Duty Poly Tarps: These Tarps are used for temporary usages. Usages, like covering an object temporarily or deal with leaky roofs, are some of the most common usages of Light-duty Tarps.
- Cotton Canvas Tarps: Cotton Canvas Tarps are perhaps one of the most primitive tarps used. They are still used and are particularly helpful for painters. Due to not being waterproof, they let air pass as well and hence the paintings that need drying, breathes through these tarps.
- Mesh Tarp: Mesh Tarp are Tarps that are primarily used to impart shade. The closer the threads of nylon that make the Tarp higher is the shade imparted.
Usage of Tarps:
Tarps can be used for wide variety of purposes. Here are some of the popular uses of Tarps:
- Aid to leaf cleaning: Leaf cleaning can be a tedious job to do. Especially when the volume of leaf is high. The number of trips required to totally clean the leaves is far less when tarps are used. Due to its large dimensions, they are capable of carrying greater quantities of leaves. Ropes can be tied to each of the four ends of the tarps and with the leaves inside it; they can be transported to the desired location.
- Drop Cloth: Tarps serve as an effective drop cloth. Tarps are spread out around the base of the branch to catch any clippings that may fall on the ground otherwise. This helps dispose of the clippings easily while trimming.
- To kill and prevent weeds: Weeds are often undesired on the lawn. They can be killed using chemicals. But Tarps provide a much better alternative to chemicals. They can be made to lay flat on the ground over the section of weed that is undesired. Weight is added on to the Tarps to keep them in place. Over time, the covered weed dies.
- Maintain a clean vehicle: Tarps are used as a cover for the cars to prevent them from being covered with dust. Daily cleaning is the only alternative to Tarps. But, in the busy schedule cleaning cars is barely viable. Therefore, Tarps serve as an ideal time-saver and protect the car from dust and other factors that contribute to making a car dirty.
- Cover for Camping: Camping invariably requires certain gears. Tarps are important gear when going to camp. They can serve as covers from rain or even sun. However, they are most commonly used under the camps to provide a clean base and to prevent ground moisture from getting into the tent.
- As frost cover: Tarps can be an essential item in cold countries. It can serve as ideal frost covers. It can be spread all over the lawn to protect the grass or over an object to prevent it from being buried under snow. Being resistant to water, tarps can be effective protectors even when the snow is melting. When used to cover cars, the snow can be easily cleaned by removing the Tarp.
