Why is it secure use of CCTV systems?
Its most common use is of course for security purposes. They are not commonly employed in public and corporate locations where a large number of people visit, or where valuable items are stored. They can be commonly found in banks, shopping malls, railways stations and shops. With the improvement in technology and lowering of costs, CCTV cameras are now increasingly being seen in private homes as well as smaller setups.
CCTV systems are also commonly employed by law enforcement agencies around strategic public locations such as parks and highways. The purpose of these setups is to collect evidences in cases of accidents and or criminal activity. These systems are also a common phenomenon in large-scale public transport stations such as airports and railways stations, where their presence is a very important step taken to combat terrorism. They provide the basis of the security setup in those large-scale public places.
Types of Cameras used in CCTV systems:
A large number of cameras can be added to a CCTV system via wired or wireless network. Each of them performs a specific function and used for different purposes.
Some of the commonly used types of camera are as follows:
- Fixed aperture lens cameras: these are most suitable for indoor setups. This type of camera has a fixed aperture which allows a fixed amount of light to enter the lens and does not allow the flexibility of adjustment based on lighting changes. They are more economical and the most frequently used CCTV. You can also install such cameras to protect your domestic property.
- Adjustable aperture lenses: these are cameras which come with an adjustable aperture to afford adjustment to changes in lighting intensity. They are of two types, the manual type, in which the change in aperture has to be made manually with changing lighting conditions, and the automatic type, in which the light sensor senses the changing light intensities and automatically adjusts the lens aperture to provide the best image recording. You can install these CCTVs in your indoor and outdoor places.
- Zoom lenses: some of the CCTV systems are equipped with zoom lenses. These lenses provide for the opportunity to zoom in on a subject in the field of view if the camera. This can be done manually or automatically in some of the cameras.
- Hidden CCTV cameras: The final types of cameras used in CCTV systems are the hidden cameras. They are most commonly used for collecting evidences of criminal activities and are concealed in a particular location. Their concealed location helps in making them more effective in capturing video evidence. However, they are of little use in dissuading potential perpetrators due to their lack of visibility.
To sum up, CCTV systems have now turned into the benchmark and foundation for security systems all around the globe in almost every setting. To install such cameras, you need to hire some trained professionals and they can easily find the exact nook and corners to install some cameras. Even they can also connect these wireless cameras with your mobile and laptop for your convenience.
