When you buy air conditioner for the first time, you must make sure to understand how to install it by going through the instruction manual. Almost all the air conditioner manufacturers give a detailed instruction manual with their box. If you are still not comfortable reading the instructions, you have a lot of videos online that you could follow to complete the air conditioning installation procedure efficiently. You need to make sure to enter the model number that you have bought appropriately when you are searching it online to get the right instructions.

The second thing that you should do when you are fitting the air conditioner on your own is to gather all the tools and equipment properly. You need to gather supplies like screwdriver, a tape to measure the brackets, screws given by the manufacturer along with the air conditioner unit, and scissors to open the box. You must make sure to check if all these supplies are already available, else you can purchase, hire or borrow them even before you unpack the air conditioner from the box to air conditioning installation.

Another important step you must follow in case of window AC is to prepare the window where you are going to fit your air conditioner. Measuring the size of the window after you check for all the parts in the air conditioner unit is must. Make sure to use a pencil and mark the centre of the window and also do measure the size of the window width using the measuring tape. When you make the markings appropriately, you will be able to install the side panels of the air conditioner unit properly on the window.

When you perform air conditioning installation of split AC on the walls of your home, you must make sure to check the strength of the wall. If the AC unit is heavier than the strength of the wall, especially in case of old buildings, you may end up damaging the AC as well as the wall. This is another important thing that you must definitely make sure to check when you are planning to mount the air conditioner system on the wall.

Once you select the right area for installation, start drilling the holes in the walls or on the windows where you are going to fit the brackets. The brackets given along with the air conditioning unit should be horizontally aligned and they have to be fastened properly, otherwise your air conditioning installation project would fail.

Mounting the outdoor unit is also equally important by using the screws that are given along with the AC unit. You must make sure the holes on the bracket and the AC unit coincide properly, else the AC unit may not be seated properly, and it may fall down one time.

Finally, you need to connect all the wires and test the AC for its functionality. By doing all these things, you would have successfully installed your air conditioner inside your home.

We have listed the basic steps for air conditioning installation. Just follow these steps and turn the AC on to enjoy the cool breeze.
